Difference Compared to the DT 990 Edition Version

The DT 990 Edition headphones for use at home and the DT 990 PRO studio headphones: Soundwise, both models are identical as they feature identically designed acoustic transducers.There are fundamentally two differences between the models. Firstly, the Edition models have a softer headband for enjoying music at home whereas the PRO headset has a slightly firmer fit. Secondly, the Edition models come equipped with a straight cable whereas the PRO models come with a coiled cable.

Great Sound At A Hot Price

Would recommend - yes

The stock sound is really quite good. Exquisite when paired with a modest amp/dac combo.

Don't Use With Anything Other Than The Adapter

Would recommend - no

Used these on my phone (not primarily). Dropped my phone (not the headphones) and the way the plug is designed meant the plug just bent. Cable is hard-wired too so that is a $350 pair of headphones that are now useless due to a stupidly designed plug (adapter is screwed on, leaving the plug sticking out from anything that doesn't use the adapter) that can't be replaced.

DT990 Pro

Would recommend - yes

After using high end gaming headsets for over 15 years i made the move to the DT990 Pros. Best change i have ever made, the sound, the comfort have been some of if not the best i have experience. The only downside is all the other items you have to get for them to work for gaming.

Mixing/Mastering

Would recommend - yes

If you need a pair of mastering headphones for your recordings these are amazing and this is the reason I got them. Listening to music is such a pleasure on these. I've never heard hi-hats sound so good. This is the way music was meant to be listened. They pair great with the DT 770 Pro headphones as the ultimate mixing and tracking combo. Amazing sound stage that I have never heard the likes of. If you want the best mastering/audiophile headphones for the price buy these. What you're getting for this price is unbeatable.

Great Headphones For This Price

if you want a good pair of open back headphones these are really solid, one thing i must say that is until they've broken in properly they are gonna be quite annoying in the top end so maybe roll the treble off out of the box, also you'll need a good amp to get the best out of these, they arent overly hard to drive but they will pick up on any hint of hiss in a cheap or just badly shielded amp.
